Accademia Tickets: Official Price, Skip-the-Line and Combos

The museum's own wording is the rule: reservations are 'highly recommended', and without one 'the wait for access may be long'. Nothing on the official page promises a same-day ticket, and nothing forbids one. The ticket office at Via Ricasoli 58/60 sells walk-up tickets at €20 with no reservation fee, subject to what is left for the day.

In practice the walk-up line moves in winter and stalls from April to October. A reserved slot puts you in the short line at the door within a fifteen-minute window; a walk-up ticket puts you in the long line on the pavement, and on a July morning that line is the wait the museum is warning you about. If you have not booked, the two workable moments are 08:15, before the coaches, and after 17:00, when the day's slots have cleared and last admission at 18:10 is still an hour away.

Free days are the exception in both directions. On the first Sunday of every month and on 25 April, 2 June and 4 November 2026 there is no booking at all; everyone queues at the gate, and the line is the longest of the month. If those are your only dates, arrive before the doors open.

Firenze Card holders are not exempt. The card costs €85 for 72 hours (about $99), and firenzecard.it lists the Accademia as 'Booking obligatory', so a card without a reserved slot is a card in the long line. The Firenze Card and its reservation rule are worked through on their own page.

The museum's tickets page at galleriaaccademiafirenze.it/en/tickets sends you to the B-ticket webshop run for the Florentine state museums. The museum states plainly that B-ticket is the only sales channel authorised by the Ministry of Culture (MiC). Phone booking runs on +39 055 294883. The €4 reservation fee is charged per ticket, and it applies to reduced and free tickets too when they are booked: a child under 18 booked online costs €4, at the door €0.

The same B-ticket shop sells the Bargello, the Medici Chapels, Orsanmichele, Palazzo Davanzati and the 48-hour and 72-hour combined tickets. It does not sell the Uffizi. Uffizi tickets, sold on a different official site, go through tickets.uffizi.it, because the Uffizi belongs to a separate institute.

Two domains that look official are not. accademia.org and florence-museum.com are private resellers; they add their own fee on top of the €20 and the €4, and their tickets are reservations made on your behalf. That is also what a GetYourGuide card is, with the difference that the card states its cancellation terms and price up front. Whatever you buy, the entrance is the same door on Via Ricasoli.

Only in the sense that any reservation does. There is one reserved entrance, and every visitor with a booked slot uses it, whether the slot came from B-ticket, the timed-entry ticket or a guided tour. What no ticket skips is the security check inside the door; the skip-the-line entry card says so in its own listing, and it is honest to repeat it here.

So a reseller's 'skip the line' means they hold the reservation for you. The value you are paying for over the €24 official ticket is the free cancellation up to 24 hours before, the audio app, and the fact that you can book in dollars on a card without navigating an Italian webshop. Whether that is worth about $9 on the date checked is your call; the timed-entry ticket has more than twenty thousand reviews from people who decided it was.

Voucher exchange for that ticket happens at the entrance: bookings of up to six people go to the 'red point' desk, seven or more to the 'green point', then everyone joins the same security line.

From 15 March 2026 the institute sells two combined tickets. The 48-hour ticket covers the Accademia and the Bargello for €26 (about $30), one entry each, within 48 hours. The 72-hour ticket covers six museums for €38 (about $44): the Accademia, the Bargello, the Medici Chapels, Orsanmichele, Palazzo Davanzati and Casa Martelli. Casa Martelli is closed from 10 March to 31 December 2026, so this year the 72-hour ticket is effectively five museums.

The arithmetic is simple. Bargello alone is €12 plus a €4 reservation fee; the Medici Chapels alone are €11 plus a €3 fee. Two singles for the Accademia and the Bargello come to €32 with fees against €26 for the combo, and adding the Medici Chapels as a third single brings singles to €46 against €38. On cards, the David ticket at $33.30 plus the Bargello ticket at $21.72 is about $55, roughly double the official pair; the Medici Chapels ticket at $20.56 is the third card. The cards win only on cancellation terms.

There is no official Accademia + Uffizi combo, because the two museums sell on different sites. The timed pair books fixed slots at both in one order and is non-refundable; the small-group walking tour does both with one guide and cancels free. Worked from the official prices on 28 August 2026 with the reservation fees included, this is what each plan costs per adult booked ahead.

EU citizens aged 18 to 25, plus citizens of Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Uruguay in the same band, pay €2 with ID. Under-18s of any nationality enter free. Also free: disabled visitors with a companion, students and teachers of the listed art and architecture faculties, Italian school teachers, EU licensed guides and interpreters, registered Italian journalists, researchers with authorisation, ICOM members and MiC staff. EU student groups with their teachers book by phone.

The €4 reservation fee is the part people miss. It is charged on every booked ticket, reduced and free included, so a family of two adults and two children booked online pays €40 plus €16 in fees, €56 in all (about $66). At the door the same family pays €40 and no fee, at the cost of the wait. Groups are capped at twenty people plus a guide, and school groups book by phone.

On free days the reduced and free categories are irrelevant: nobody pays and nobody books.
